Marneus Calgar

It has been very exciting to work on the iconic design of Marneus Calgar, originally created by Dave Gallagher in 2004. One of my earliest memories of Warhammer 40k is this incredible illustration of the Chapter Master of Ultramar, and it’s been a real joy to revisit it.

I really enjoyed working on this iconic concept, especially with its distinct early 2000s vibe. It was truly fun adapting it into 3D particularly the process of gathering references to recreate the intricate ornaments. That was the most rewarding part of the project.
